| The year 2010 has been an action-packed year for Nissan India. In our bid to become a serious player in the Indian market, we have taken some significant strides and we are encouraged by the response and enthusiasm shown by the people of India to our products and services. |
| After inaugurating the First Alliance Global Plant – Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd in March this year, we started the production of our first made in India, global compact car – the Nissan Micra. We launched the car in the domestic market on July 14, 2010 and have been extremely satisfied with the results. The initial trends and overwhelming customer response are very encouraging signs and we believe we have introduced a right product at the right time with a very competitive price. |
| We have also taken considerable efforts to build the Nissan brand in India. We signed on the young and rising Bollywood star, Ranbir Kapoor, as our brand ambassador and we believe we have made a very good choice as the Indian audience has been able to connect with the brand attributes very well. |
| We have been ramping our dealership network across the country to increase our footprint and today we have 20 dealers in operation. We aim to achieve more than 100 dealers by 2013 and we are well on track with our plans. |
| After successful launch of our first product Micra, we are all set to start exports to more than 100 countries such as Europe, Middle East, Africa. Total volume will grow to 180,000 units in the near future. |
| Our product launch plan to India is aggressive, as we have planned to line-up total 9 models by 2012, of which 5 models will be produced in India and 4 models will be the imports from Japan. |
