| Sales crosses 5000 mark for the first time by registering 178 % growth over an year ago |
| Chennai/Mumbai/New Delhi, Wednesday, February 1st: Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) today reported the highest ever monthly sales in its existence in India with a record 5168 units sold in January against 1857 units an year ago, registering a staggering growth of 178 per cent. |
| The September-launched Nissan Sunny contributed the highest number in the total sales with 3218 units, with its Diesel version registering high sales during the period. Premium hatchback Nissan Micra contributed 1855 units, while Nissan Teana, Nissan X-trail and Nissan 370 Z comprising the remaining sales. |
| Mr Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. said: “It is inspiring that 5,186 customers have chosen our cars in one month in India, in less than 20 months of our starting production in India. We are pleased with this resounding customer preference to our products, which came in a short span of our existence in the country and we are grateful to our patrons for reposing faith in Nissan. It increases our responsibility as a customer focused company delivering high quality cars, and we will continue to live up to the expectations.” |

| The previous highest sales in India was in November, 2011, when sales registered a total of 3,152 units. |
| Nissan unveiled an urban-class utility vehicle named Evalia, besides showcasing its existing Indian models and internationally acclaimed GT-R and LEAF at the recently held Delhi Auto Expo. The Expo has generated wide interest among customers on Nissan Sunny and Nissan Micra. |
| Since its launch in September, 2011 Nissan Sunny has received accolades from automobile reviewers and customers alike and has won the Economic Times Zigwheels Award as the Best Entry Sedan of the year. Nissan Sunny advertising also received accolades from customers and award from Vicky.in as best TV commercial for Cars in India. |
| The J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2011 India Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study has selected Micra as the top car in the premium compact segment with a score of 857 out of 1000. Micra came top in six of the 10 categories such as vehicle exterior; audio/ entertainment/ navigation; seats; HVAC; visibility and driving safety; and fuel economy in the study conducted among 8000 new car buyers in 2011 across 20 cities in India. |
